Where does the time go / History Repeating Itself

Today is one of those days. I look at the clock and it's getting close to 11am. I feel like I just woke up. Oh well that is a good thing when you are at work.

Holly is working on Nate's school trivia night and we're trying to secure a table. She's physcially forcing me to look at a September calendar..which happends to be over 5 weeks into Drew's 2nd grade year....I haven't even been to Hurricane Harbor yet. What the heck is happening to summer, my calendar tells me that Sunday is July!! Can that be right?

One of the things I hated about retail was the "pushing of the seaons". This came up recently since one of the girls at work has a part time job at JJill in the mall. She told me, "ooo, Mary Pat, come see all the things we have on sale, almost everything is marked down, we have to get rid of this since the Fall merchandise is coming in".. See that isn't right. I still don't know what my "summer style" is yet!

We're firing a girl at work today, at least I think it's going to be today. As J said, I hope she doesn't go psycho on people. I'm not doing the firing and I actually have stuck up for her. The problem is a girl we'll call Sally. Sally is a liar and will sabotage anyone so that she will look good. she'd done this to the girl that is getting canned, lets call her Betty. It's not as though Betty doesn't totally deserve it, when she started working here she was a top employee that was a bit quirky, now though I see in her what I was like toward the end of my last job, you know that "is it worth it anymore??"..look in her eyes. I don't blame her one bit. She does an awesome job and Sally screws it up for her and she does a horrible job and Sally is running to whisper it to everyone in the office. The problem is the company feels a loyalty to Sally who has been with the company a long time. I think they feel a bit sorry for her too since her home life isn't the greatest. I can't believe this crap goes on at the work place. A girl on another blog was talking about being cool, and you could tell she was a bit jelous of the "cool kids"... it's really like that Bowling For Soup song, "High School Never Ends".

***Firing Update: Betty's boss just took her to lunch. Betty's boss winked at me as they left. Bye Bye Betty :-(
****They gave her a "letter" telling her that she is a horrible employee who doesn't do any aspect of her job correctly and that they are going to re-evaluate in 30 days. Her boss would not take part in the letter giving due to the fact that they wouldn't give Sally the same letter. If I were Betty I would get the hell out of here. No one will EVER be able to perform in that position to the best of their ability as long as Sally is still employeed here.
